Behold! The Commodore-256 Masterpal. This is a hefty color palette that is not only a recreation, but a spiritually successor and expansion on the traditional Commodore-64's legendary palette.

What makes it the "256 Masterpal"?

So firstly, this does contain a fairly accurate depiction of the original 16 colors of the Commodore 64, however, it also contains every possible color combination between the two colors which is meant to simulate how the C-64 could create 'new' colors by flickering between two existing ones. Making this an impressive 220 color palette (including transparency) available in: unedited form, a well-structured series of gradients intended to give the best ease of workflow based on primary and secondary colors, as well as .act and .pal files. The end result is a robust, powerful palette that not only evokes the classical early-computer gaming stylings. But gives it a modern, more polished feel.

Designed for Ease of Use

From the outset, this was intended to be used by actual people and to make pixel-art (or other designs with it) as easy as humanly possible. The gradient-theme separated into primary and secondary colors alongside a master 24-bit RPG palette adapted into it allows someone to easily sort and use the palette and find the exact color they need very quickly in a very intuitive fashion.

License (Copy-Pasted from the Readme)

This palette is released under a personal and commercial license. You are free to. Use it in personal and commercial projects (e.g., games, artwork). Modify the palette for your needs. You do not need to credit me for my work, but it’s always appreciated if you do. Cheers!

You may not: Redistribute or resell this palette on its own, even if modified. I'm watching you... Naughty naughty. >:3

Please note, I used text-to-image AI to generate the images to adapt them in the palette and to write the first draft readme. Hence why I flagged this as being used with AI. As much as I enjoy pixel art, I admire pixel artists and wish I could do what they do. At the time of writing, I'm still learning the ropes so I used AI generated images. The actual palette itself isn't made with AI and was done on an early 2000s version of Photoshop. Cheers! :)
